Just Plane Thoughts: writings from an airplane window
When we as Christians come to a greater understanding of who he is, there is no one or nothing that can shake our trust, our love, and our hope in HIM. And when we reveal the true nature of God to those who don't know His love, how is it possible to resist it? Yes, we will go through suffering. Yes, we will go through times when we are frustrated at God. God wants us to voice our needs, our concerns, our frustrations. I think a lot of times we try to hide our frustration from God. This is hilarious to me considering He knows exactly what we are thinking. For example, right now, I am frustrated that I have no idea what God has in store for me for the next season of my life. I hate not knowing things. Thats the way God made me; obviously he knows that will be an issue with me. BUT, despite all of my frustration, I have no FEAR because I know the NATURE of God: HE IS GOOD, and HE IS CONSTANT. Religion has taken the realness out of our relationship with God. We read verses like 1 Peter 5:? that says for us to cast all of our cares(or anxiety) on HIM and we still think that that only means financial or physical needs. He cares about everything. If it is a concern to us, no matter how stupid or minimal it may be, it is a concern to God. WHY? Because he has LOVE and CONCERN for us. So basically what I am saying is we need to stop preaching about what will happen if you don't know God and start showing people what will happen when they DO know God: To lead people to a place where Christ can be breathed in. Out of that the only logical response is to follow and worship HIM. So our responsibility is to not only preach and spread the message but to give people a glimpse of the tangible love of God.
